Welcome to the online home of "The Joy of Singing."

Patrizia Cioffi teaches private and group Singing Lessons, Vocal Technique Classes, interpretation of many styles of music and How to Read Music, in several locations in New Jersey and New York City.

Ms. Cioffi offers stress-free vocal training for beginner through advanced Singers of all ages wishing to sing popular music, Rhythm and Blues, Salsa, Musical Theater, Opera, Sacred Music, Oratorio, American Classics, folk and ethnic songs. She works with actors and professional speakers wishing to train and maintain a healthy speaking voice. Lessons are for Singers Wishing to Train, Strengthen and Improve Their Singing Voice and for non-singers to maintain a healthy placement in their speaking voice and to avoid becoming hoarse.

An established teacher of voice, she has taught at Mount Holyoke College, in New York City at the Lucy Moses School, in Florence Italy, and as Founder Executive Director, at the New School for the Arts/New Jersey Opera Institute since 1986.

Ms. Cioffi, a vocal artist/teacher, specializes in expanding use of the breath and vocal range, interpretation of standard, Italian, German, English and Latin Repertory among various music styles and non-classical genres. Her technique is deeply rooted in the Italian school of bel canto singing.

Performance Workshop

Le Voci Internazionali (International Voices), Montclair, NJ is presenting an Opera Performance Workshop, specializing in the Italian repertory, September 16th to October 17th, once a week sessions, culminating in a public performance. The Workshop is designed to provide preparation, repertory building and performance experience to seriously committed and career bound classical singers. The workshop sessions will include language, diction, acting and musical coaching.

Fee: $250.

Chorus singers will also be accepted into the workshop.
Most sessions held on Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings.
The commute to Montclair is 30 minutes from NYC port of authority bus terminal and minutes from the bus stop in Montclair.
